 Its called Mombasa port.what's a port in the first place?many have been asking the question moreso those grandmas of ours at ushago.A port is a town or a city with harbour to access navigable water where ships load and unload for instance Mombasa ports.

Mombasa port is the key entry and exit point for Cargo belongings to a vast hinterland.It's located near Fort Jesus at Mombasa Old town.its development commenced when the first Jetty used for discharging material for construction of the railway line was built at Kilindini.

The Mombasa port is a prize national asset for kenya,its not only facilitates the country's the country's shipping trade but serves as a strategic asset for the east African region.

When the port operations was taken to Naivasha by the immidiate former president Uhuru many Mombasa were rendered Jobless and the leaders and local politicians from Coast accused the former government for neglecting the economic needs of Mombasa residents,they said it was irresponsible for the government to relocate the Mombasa port operations to Naivasha rendering locals jobless.

You can see from the above paragraph one of the impacts of Mombasa port its clear that Mombasa ports is a creation of employment to its locals.

During the inauguration ceremony for the current president William Ruto,he immediately returned all port operations to Mombasa and his aim was to restoring thousands of jobs that had been lost in Mombasa.

Other economical Impacts of Mombasa port operations to its residents are;

1.Mombasa port operations has reduced high rate of crime in Mombasa,this is by providing jobs to jobless youths who were engaged themselves in different crimes like theft,drug deals and drug abuse in order to get money.

2.Mombasa port operations has also left to development of roads and railways to the people of Mombasa this is by making of good roads that leads to the port and all across Mombasa region.This has also helped in reduction of road Jams and accidents since many improved roads are built.

3.Through creation of employment Mombasa port has raised living standards since now the people are getting employed to work there and they are being paid some good amount of money.

4.Mombasa port has also left to improvement of Markets this by good transportation of sold goods to Market places in Mombasa like Kongowea marikiti and many more other Markets.

5.It has also reduced the coast of Living to Mombasa residents since when it was moved to Naivasha leaving only SGR to work in Mombasa many were rendered jobless and the SGR costs increased.
